Farfegnugenheit. Which means I’ll have to pull out a big piece of cardboard to cover the SAAB’s rad. since the previous owner put in a low temp thermostat.
Also why it is so cold in Texas.

33 here in SA right now, just got above 32 a few minutes ago. I can’t remember the last time we had a day that was still freezing in the afternoon. It’s so strange.

It’s up to 18 in my part of the PNW which seems pretty reasonable after it being in the single digits/ zero for the past week.

That sounds like great beach weather.

It’s been consistently 45-55 for the past couple of weeks up here in South East England.
Why is Texas so cold?

It was 24 when I got up to go to church at 6:30 this morning. It’s up to a balmy 32 now. Shorts weather!

My family was at Fiesta Texas last night. I had looked at the weather before we left, and I saw that the winds were going to change around 8:00 pm. So I made my boys wear long pants and bring a jacket. There were tons of people at the park wearing shorts and short-sleeved shirts. The wind hit about 8:15, and the park cleared out in a hurry. The winds caused the rides to get shut down, though.

That’s the closest I can remember. Even then I swear it was above freezing by lunch time.

Yeah the wind took out my gazebo canopy. It blew in like crazy. I was in an outdoor Nativity and was sweating at He start and freezing by the end just between 5 and 8. How quickly it dropped was like one of the rides at Fiesta Texas! Glad you were prepared. Fiesta Texas and Sea World are tons of fun this time of year with the Christmas theme and all of the lights.

Except that the increase in temp brought just enough snow with it that I had to shovel the driveway. You don’t have to shovel cold.

Last full Saturday to shop before Christmas! Fiesta Texas’s location right by the La Cantera mall and Rim shopping center makes traffic insane down there during holiday shopping seasons. There is also a huge movie theater right there with the new Star Wars probably not helping matters. I live a few miles west of Fiesta Texas and was driving by around 3:30 PM yesterday - cars were stacking up on IH10 and the frontage for miles before the exit. Oh and 35 basically never isn’t rush hour between San Marcos and SA any more. They’re apparently about to build an IKEA at 35 and 1604 as if there isn’t already enough traffic in the area.

I’m not liking the Austin cold. I’m just thankful that there’s no ice/snow with it since I never bothered buying “winter” tires for my Boostang and am still running the summer Pirellis...
